B E C A N D L U K E
After meeting 8 years ago on their University campus, Bec and Luke knew that life was better together. They celebrated with a nature inspired wedding day in Mudgee, incorporating all things green and natural.
DANCING TOWARDS THE AISLE...
As Bec is a dance teacher, Luke knew the place that had a special place in her heart. "Luke proposed to me on stage at the end of year concert. He had a whole team helping him out, music was playing, confetti cannons went off and the videographers got the whole thing on camera!"
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
"We always wanted a semi relaxed feel to our wedding, in a country setting with delicious food and drinks. We love greenery and white with wooden elements as Luke is a carpenter." The decor of natural tones was complimented with classic white and blush roses through the bouquets.
The reception was inkeeping with the theme, displaying lots of greenery to create the feeling of a greenhouse. Elements of wood played into the venue and ceremony for a rustic feel. "Luke hand made the white doors that framed the ceremony space, they were beautiful!"
MY FAIR LADY
For the big day, Bec wanted something classic and elegant which was found in a stunning Karen Willis Homes gown. "It was a very classic gown which I added my own elements to so I could make it more me. I am an Aubrey Hepburn fan and I felt like I channeled her on the day". The gown was joined by a delicate chapel length veil and exquisite headpiece.
Bridesmaids were dressed in a rich burgundy contrasting perfectly with the soft greys tones worn by the groomsmen. Photographer Matt Teague made sure to catch the bridal party in their natural ways...having fun! "We aren't overly formal people so our photos reflect that, lots of laughing, fun and of course dancing!"
To replace traditional canapés, the couple chose a huge grazing platter for guests. Following the relaxed theme of the wedding, family style platters were then placed for the sit down dinner. Slow cooked lamb, Chimichurri Chicken, breads, olive oils and dukkah were all served. To finish it off, guests were gifted with a gift that the couple described as 'super useful and Aussie"...stubbie holders! The cake, made by a dear friend, was a classic two tier with florals and greenery to match the venue.
DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY
From old school to top 40, the couple enjoyed a variety of music to get the party started. The bridal party was sure to get everybody moving, including her grandmother. When asked what was one of the most memorable moments of the day, the couple replied "Having Bec's 95 year old grandmother at the wedding, dancing up a storm on the dance floor was amazing"
